30 August 2014, 16:15

Nice RN Phantom, sharp and clean work and a subtle weathering – very well done!
30 August 2014, 16:48

Realistic weathering Augie. I saw a Phantom of this Sq. several years ago at Ramstein Airbase.
30 August 2014, 16:56

thanks Christian 🙂 its taken longer than I planned but very happy with the outcome.
Dieter, thank you I try not to go too far.. tho as you may see from some of the tanks I have done.. i dont always make it.
30 August 2014, 17:18

hi Christian, to be honest I am not sure.. Might be RAH-66.. my problem is many in my stash call to me.
30 August 2014, 17:51

I vote RAH-66 but then I would 😄

30 August 2014, 17:52

thanks Barry 🙂
Choppa, the truck is still a work in progress to straighten out..
30 August 2014, 17:53

Lovely build mate! I've managed to totally miss this one but I'm glad that I got to see it now!
25 October 2016, 17:18

Great job Augie, and one of my favorite Phantom schemes ! Beautiful, you did it again 👍
25 October 2016, 17:37

Wow didnt realise it how long its been since I got this one done.
Urb, I'm sure yours will be better but thank you 🙂
Willy, Thanks 🙂 it was a interesting build
Mike, thanks an say hi to marina for me.

25 October 2016, 18:22

Augie is secretly building a 48th scale Operation Petticoat Catalina in pink camo and wingfold... 😛 Not long now before she will surprise us with pics 😉
25 October 2016, 20:42

Lol willy, It so happens i do have that cat ready to build. even looking for a few figures to go with it.
thanks Michael 🙂
25 October 2016, 21:23

Very nice model! Are the RN decals provided by the kit or you used after market?
22 February 2017, 11:25

Love this colour scheme, youve done a great job building his one Augie
22 February 2017, 22:52

👍 I have the Revell boxing in the stash for an RAF one. Looks like I'll have to do the RN/FAA too if they look this good.
23 February 2017, 09:06

That is a really sweet Phantom, great job!
Man, now I want to do Royal Navy or RAF Phantom. Gonna have to go scour Ebay for one now since I don't have one in the ol' stasharoo...
23 February 2017, 13:40

LOl thanks Guys
Es-haq, still brushpainting, cant bring myself to defect to the Airbrush side.
The revell reboxes are cheap enough, some of the hase ones can be got fair price too.
Clifford ole buddy, its 2 yrs old now 😄
23 February 2017, 18:13

Great job Augie... it's always a nice thing to find someone who paints with the "handbrush" ... I feel less lonely 😄😄😄
24 February 2017, 10:36

Looks like I will be going back to the "hair brush", my compressor died right in the middle of painting my 1/32 ME-109G6 this morning.
24 February 2017, 18:50

I ordered me a new compressor last night, I got it from the place where I buy my airbrushes, for 80.00 with free shipping.
28 February 2017, 18:34

Nice going, mine was a cheap start up set, cost £80 for compressor and a airbrush.
28 February 2017, 18:54

😮 Did I hear you say AIRBRUSH ? You ? Augie ? The Mistress of The Hairy Stick ? I am completely beaten off balance ! 😉
28 February 2017, 19:05

😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
I feel myself falling into a state of astonishment, you are THE AUGIE??? scalemates very own Aircraft model builder extraordinaire, virtuoso of hand painting, connoisseur of the HAIRBRUSH???
Well done Augie, I've no doubt you'll be champion of the Airbrush in no time, too. Have fun 😄
28 February 2017, 19:49

Lol steady guys, the brush is always going to be my standard. But i thought I'd give one a try
28 February 2017, 23:52

I still paint my SEA camo schemes with the ole hairy stick, I haven't quite mastered that scheme with the airbrush. And I cannot for the life of me find anything called Blue Tac, in this country. Seems you guys in Europe have all the "neat" goodies.
1 March 2017, 14:28

I know, i´m late but what do i read above??? Augie? A Airbrush?😮 Now you are on the dark side of modelling, my dear!;)
1 March 2017, 14:49

it looks good, and if you have done it with brush, i am speachless... i am completely useless in painting with brush anything bigger than a millimetre or two... let alone a complete build! some of my old pre-airbrush builds have so much paint, that you can not know if they had raised or scribed detail 😛
1 March 2017, 15:39

Lol yea holly.. a airbrush to try.
Spanjaard its all brush, its all i use currently 🙂
