Nice start, nice bird and Happy new Year! Are resin parts Your challenge for 2015 ? 🙂
31 December 2014, 21:11

Youre always in action. Seems that you never sleep. I'll follow this. Happy new year.
31 December 2014, 21:29

Lol thanks Guys Happy news year and 2015..
Resin isnt new to me, the F-105 i did had plenty in 😄
31 December 2014, 23:53

Oh yeah corsair II action another nice plane at 48th scale I'll be watching intensely with this one.
1 January 2015, 00:58

hehe Happy new year guys and girls,
take a seat and pass around the popcorn😉
Michael, my friend you just saved me some looking around for good piccies of what its ment to look like. I'll use yours as my guide 😄
1 January 2015, 11:08

the seat I couldnt yet.. its still trying but pictures of the bang seat to folllow.. 🙂
1 January 2015, 22:30

So... Testing fitting of the resin with the intake ducting.
Also the most observant will notice the shade of blue has changed in the cockpit.. I love resin so easy to remove mistakes 🙂
5 January 2015, 19:37

lol thank you guido 🙂 and christian more pics will follow step by step
6 January 2015, 16:34

Michael, any chance you got piccies of the right hand side cockpit walls?
its the only side I cant find..
6 January 2015, 23:31

So.. had a little accident with a paint pot.. so just stripped it as it was hard to recover from a red wash..
9 January 2015, 19:20

Augie this will be another beauty made by you! Excellent so far !
9 January 2015, 19:45

After a bit iof strip down and repaint.. the basics are down on it.. so now to tidy up and make it good..
10 January 2015, 22:36

Looking good Augie, I guess I'm slower than you now. LOL. Haven't finished anything in almost 3 months. I have my Hasegawa A-7E almost finished. I will try and get some pictures up soon.
15 January 2015, 23:43

I see you went with a resin pit, I used the kit one, with photo-etch and a resin seat. I did not notice that the photo-etch set did not include side consoles, until I had sanded all of the raised detail away. So I had to rob some side consoles from one of my F-4 sets. LOL. It came out all right.
15 January 2015, 23:48

Lol 🙂
well I think i am slow too.. the resin pit is because it came with the kit.. i bought it from a friend on here 😄
16 January 2015, 00:01

The instrument panel looks absolutely awesome, Augie! A gem of a masterpiece! 😄
16 January 2015, 10:33

Thanks Guys 🙂
Holly, it is indeed the Aires pit.. not bad.. had to crack part of it tho to fit it in.. and a lot of sanding needed
16 January 2015, 18:00

HI Christian, no they are scratched with needle and then painted 😄
17 January 2015, 15:07

I will follow this one for sure, my favourite aircraft of all time! 🙂
17 January 2015, 15:16

So, further update, I think its nearly done.. now to the bang seat
17 January 2015, 19:14

really ? why ?
I much prefer the PE ones if I am honest, although some of the resins look great too 🙂
26 January 2015, 22:47

I find I can make the molded ones look better.. i dunno just something fake looking about the p/e ones
26 January 2015, 22:49

I guess I know what you mean, I suppose they can look a little too clean, the fabric ones look best I think.
but with a little wash and perhaps even a little painting etc. I quite like the sharpness of them and that the buckles look separate from the seats etc.
anyhow, different strokes for different folks and all that 🙂
26 January 2015, 22:54

from my pov the pe seatbelts has only one drawback, being rigid (it's metal afterall) they just don't *want* to conform to the contours of the seat below them. i haven't tried tempering them before shaping but i doubt even that would help the problem since they don't have enough weight to make themselves sink anyway...
26 January 2015, 23:31

true, it does take a bit of effort to make them look natural and weighted, giving them a few twists back and forth helps as well as a bit of preshaping before you glue them etc.
I must confess I've seen a few resin seats that are quite tempting to get because all of that shaping is already done for you 🙂
26 January 2015, 23:36

Eduard came out with those fabric seats. I wonder how those will look
27 January 2015, 20:10

So yeah.. some seams had to be split to pad out for the wings to fit.
Once they fettled in will get more pictures on
8 February 2015, 13:21

Hang in there Augie,It will get there. I didn't think I would ever get mine finished.I prefer the molded resin straps myself, but must say the PE ones were very easy to work with and turned out nice.
8 February 2015, 16:59

hehe yeah.. the wing join is done... wasnt as bad as I thought.
the rest is go go go
more piccies
8 February 2015, 17:15

My, frankenstien Fujimi F-4E is almost finished. It is a mass of Fujimi, Revell and Hasegawa parts. LOL.
8 February 2015, 17:28

🙂 Thanks Adie,
I think this one might go down as the longest build I have done..
12 February 2015, 18:42

Lol thanks guys
Guus, once she's done sure.. she can play with the Greek one 😄
12 February 2015, 20:18

Thanks Guys 🙂
Michael, spot on with that join..I padded it slightly to make the shoulders wider then it was very little that needed to be removed.
the back end was about the same.. just no padding needed.
12 February 2015, 20:40

Yeah aint that the truth.. I think i had to rescribe like 4 panel lines with this way.. far better than I expected..
12 February 2015, 22:02

I believe this will be your master piece. Very nice so far.
13 February 2015, 09:12

🙂 thanks Christian and John,
we'll see yet.. theres already a little glitch with the canopy thats going to be a problem
13 February 2015, 17:59

no.. its a glitch.. I've melted the canopy a bit..so has a bit of fogging
13 February 2015, 20:02

Hi Augie! This will be a beauty for sure! And I like your well organized workbench as well😉 Move faster than the desaster 🙂
See You joining our F-104 Group build and most of all have fun! Cheers!
13 February 2015, 20:07

Hey Christian 🙂 I find the well organised bench works for me😉 never loose a part lol
Oh I am definitely in the group build...🙂
13 February 2015, 20:11

That´s nice to hear! Did the carpet monster never visited you? I could tell stories you might not believe... 🙂
13 February 2015, 20:18

Lol the only monster I have been inflicted with is the clumsy fingers that break things...
13 February 2015, 20:20

LMAO.. every modeller should have one of those on the desk to remind them😉
13 February 2015, 20:37

Well Urban... this is the ultimate proof. The Yeti and Nessy were seen several times... but never that close while working.
13 February 2015, 20:45

So bit of an update...
She's on her wheels.. and she's dirty down there.
I've also done a test shot of the colours I think match the picture i have..
14 February 2015, 09:17

I see that there has been a fair amount of research done before you started your A-7 Augie.
In amongst all that chaos on your bench (mine is the same !!!) will come a great result I am sure.
I do like the ejection seat. 🙂
Looking GOOD mate 🙂
14 February 2015, 09:47

Thanks Kerry 🙂
I di tend to research them... trying to avoid AMS... really I am.. lol
14 February 2015, 09:52

Augie, I was looking through the photos of your A-7 build and I noticed the tail of an F-4 !!!!! Ohhhhhhhhhh I thought.. I must see if you have posted that before and glory be, I went through your album list and there it was.
AWSOME. That is one of the best F-4's I have ever seen, and the paint job excels my friend. I am most impressed with your abilities. Ace modeller comes to mind. 🙂
14 February 2015, 10:02

awww shucks Kerry your making me blush dude 🙂
thank you but I'm an alright builder.. 🙂
14 February 2015, 10:04

I am not trying to blow smoke up your jumper mate, but all the builds in your album series are just wonderful. TRUE !! 🙂 And you DO like the A-7 I see. 🙂 And I see you spent a pretty penny on a nose job too LOL. 🙂
14 February 2015, 10:17

Great!!
Going better and better! Im really glad to see it being build 😄 Thank you for sharing it Augie 😉
14 February 2015, 16:17

At what stage does the "Blush" go on Augie. ?
This will be a great result mate, as there has been a great deal of care taken to get it all to this stage. Well done 🙂.
15 February 2015, 22:06

thanks guys 🙂
theres been some rework on the paint.. always follow the picture not the one with the decals is the moral lol
15 February 2015, 23:50

So.. repairs are under way as is the paint...
Its quite striking the looks..
so update pic of fuselage and the tail/wings..
I am so glad weathering wont be needed.. these were new paint
22 February 2015, 22:24

There must have been some terrible skies around then for them to put that paint scheme on their A-7's :-/. But it looks spectacular Augie. Complicated, but beautifully applied mate 🙂
23 February 2015, 01:32

🙂 thank you everyone Its coming along..
I'm just fixing up the wing roots as it seems the white spirit has weakened the plastic that much.. that they are just cracking
23 February 2015, 19:43

Looking awesome Augie! It would look good next to mine. LOL.
23 February 2015, 20:24

My 104 is on it's way from Sprue Brothers. So I am in on the GB.
24 February 2015, 14:20

So yeah.. been quiet on this one...
I managed to recover from the damage.. now.. a slight teaser update
9 March 2015, 21:33

A most striking impression it makes Augie, and crisp looking. Well done . 🙂
10 March 2015, 20:36

Thanks guys 🙂 been a long time.. infact.. this might well be my longest ever builds.. 3 months or so.. 😠
10 March 2015, 20:46

Lol thanks Michael, its long for me... even my rhino's were only months at a shot..
10 March 2015, 21:02

I have been working on my JayHawk for 4 months,(har) got ya beat Augie. LOL.I don't know if I will ever get the thing finished. I have an excuse though, wife's surgery.
10 March 2015, 23:12

I really should finish the F-35 i started a few months ago... I never get anything done fast anymore... 🙁
10 March 2015, 23:14

So been a while, but here we go.. the last stretch.
Decals are on, as are stores just a slight wash to dull down the cockpit lines. then I think we're done.
Full completion album will follow.
24 March 2015, 19:16

Very colourful Augie, and not an easy paint job, no matter how you do it!
24 March 2015, 19:59

Now that does look smart Augie, Canopy edges are faultless !! very sweet 🙂
24 March 2015, 23:17

would be nice to see a few photos of it in sunlight,
because.... she's worth it ..... 😄
25 March 2015, 03:46

This Sl*t äh SLUFF looks way cool, Augie! And the pit is marvelous!!!
25 March 2015, 08:23

Just another gem in "Augie Style" I like every bit of it. Clean build, great camo and plenty of ordnance. Any plans to visit us at Wangerooge by next February? It would be nice to see You there.
25 March 2015, 18:57

Thanks Guys 🙂 always amazes me how you guy's enjoy my builds
Christian I would love to make Wangerrooge one time.. I have somethings to get through first to get there 🙂
25 March 2015, 21:17

That's because you are such a master with ze old paint stick. LOL.
26 March 2015, 00:15

Great build Augie, love the camo ! I thought you said there had been a boo-boo with the canopy ? Looks great from where I'm sitting.
30 March 2015, 18:45

heyy Guus, thanks buddy 🙂
there is a boo-boo, but the frame hides it..thank god..lol
30 March 2015, 19:53

Hi Gareth, thanks 🙂 this one almost ended up in bin after a thinners issue, but it came out alright in the end.
4 March 2016, 17:59

I am so happy to know you were able to finally get this done Augie, and mine is still to be finished, so, your way ahead of me mate. 👍
Really top notch effort. 🙂
4 March 2016, 19:39

Now Augie, you know we don't talk about the bin. LOL. Remember "I" will never surrender.
4 March 2016, 19:49

........... well it is the first rule of "Model Club",
we don't talk about the bin !! Haha 😄
4 March 2016, 19:54

lol true, there is never too buggered to repair.. this was probably the closest I have come to binning a kit.
4 March 2016, 20:09

If you ever ruin a kit beyond redemption for any reason at the very least it makes for a good test bed for new techniques you might want to experiment with etc.
or... one could make it into a derelict or a crashed example for some mini diorama fun etc.
(or a bit of "Scratch'n'Bash"😉 )
4 March 2016, 20:14

Yes, It's good to see you again, Augie.
I never talk about the bin....but I have been known to refer to 'toy quality', meaning it is bound for some child to play with.
5 March 2016, 00:44

hehe thanks guys, this one is is an older one, before the gnat if i recall correctly
5 March 2016, 01:02
