cockpit looking fantastic, and pilot looking really good already... i am in 🙂
20 April 2017, 17:38

Perfect start, as usual! Oh, another one with black numbers on top of Gunze bottles 👍 🙂 Have fun!
20 April 2017, 18:06

Wow, that cockpit looks absolutely fantastic! I only wish I could get that kind of result...
21 April 2017, 01:25

Cockpit is looking great, nice to see you got the paint in the pit just like the color of the pe parts. Always a reason for me not to use PE in cockpits...never get it right.. Good work 👍

Excellent progress, I love the pilot. Did he come molded to the seat?
21 April 2017, 21:48

Thank you!
Clifford Yes, it´s one piece. But it´s no problem to paint it. So far. 🙂

Nice progress Klaus. I'm curious how the rod will turn out. And again something nee learned 👍
22 May 2017, 18:30

Really happy you posted those pics about how the rod is fixed to the fuselage

A little progress. Do you see the preshading? I don't. It was a nice try, but I cannot handle this way of painting. So back to my usual method: Basic color, then some shadings with brightened basic color and Tamiya x-19 smoke. The egypt MiG had no stencils, fortunately. 🙂 Next Step: some oil paints for a washing and a few streaks. Final step will be the ALLCLAD II mate klear kote.

your own method seem to be delivering the usual good results.... stick to it😉
12 June 2017, 11:09

Cool! Do you used masks for the brown or "free hand"? Damn good transition area between the colors 👍
12 June 2017, 17:24

Thank you! 🙂 bughunter, you are right, the camouflage pattern is "free hand".
12 June 2017, 19:14

Hi Klaus, your mig is looking great. Thanks for the color mix of the cockpit color. Can you tell me the mix ratio of the colors? Did you use your future direct from the bottle or did you mix it with water?
13 June 2017, 04:43

Thank you very much mates! 🙂
Norbert the ratio for the interior green is Gunze H46, H45 and H25 in 11:6:6 . But be careful, Eduard used different colors for the PE-Parts! Maybe a mix of H46 and H25 is the better way depending on the Eduard color.
The Future is thinned with Tamiya thinner X-20a (10:1).

I saw one original on Display in Hurghada - Looks just like your model!
15 June 2017, 13:23

Thank you 🙂
The MiG is finished, and a few pics show the result. I tried to use the sky as backgound, but I could not find the right place to take this photos.
This is a really great kit, everything fits perfectely, nice details and easy to build. I hope you enjoy the MiG! 🙂

fantastic, and those pictures without the rod are simply stunning. well done KlausH, as usual 🙂
18 June 2017, 20:05

Great to see the finished model. Looks great. Nice to see wheels up for a change as well
18 June 2017, 22:03

Great presentation , amazing modeling work overall. For accuracy i need to check some things. Eg the color of the cockpit , i think it was gray on pf's and some other minor details.
18 June 2017, 23:51

Thank you mates! 🙂
Aris aka Amen you may be right. I am surely not a MiG specialist. But I found pictures with both colors on this version, and the few original pics don't help me to see if the cockpit is grey or green. So I decided to go the easy way and choose the green one, following the eduard instructions. 🙂
19 June 2017, 05:12

Wow, that is fantastic Klaus! Amazing paintwork and weathering. Bravo!
19 June 2017, 17:09

KlaushH about the cockpit color i came to the same you conclusion like you. You made a good choice. On the other hand, with so many variants even in the same model (different batches), you can't be wrong! Another speculation is that PFM is modernized PF, so they might update the cockpits from grey to blue/green too. 🙂

In picture 39 the rubber insulation for the transparancies can be seen. How did you mask/paint those?
21 June 2017, 17:49

Thanks Erik!
Patrick The insulation is brushed free hand with Vallejo Colour, before removing the canopy masking tape. In this way it is quite easy to make a thin and almost 😉 accurate line.
21 June 2017, 18:18

Very cool presentation and really good paint job....looks nice and faded from baking in the hot sun!
21 June 2017, 18:23

Great modeling and great photography! Very nice MiG, in my opinion looking very realistic.
