Have this one in my stash too, watching with interest.....Will you be building a Dutch version or the German one?

Nice... there's something about the Thunderstreak that makes her a sweet looking bird.🙂
6 November 2017, 21:19

Wim, I will be building the German version. Thanks Mikey, I hope I can do her justice.

Too bad to hear that Clifford! Germans are already over-represented here 😄
7 November 2017, 14:29

Dutch markings make all planes 50% cooler.....it's common knowledge 😉
7 November 2017, 14:59

What about the Belgian Air Force, the only city with it's own Air Force! 😄
7 November 2017, 15:15

I think I have an F-16 in the stash with Belgian markings, @Wim the German markings aren't carved in stone. I will have to check the internet for References for a Dutch one, as the kit Instructions are not real clear on the colors.

OK it looks like the Dutch ones are dark gray and dark green on top with a slightly lighter gray on the belly. I actually like it, so I guess you guys win. Dutch it shall be.

Good to hear that Clifford👍!! The colors on top should be BS640 extra dark sea grey and BS641 dark green and BS636 PRU blue for the underside. Revell's color instruction is not correct on this kit.

Thanks Erik, Gunther, Wim and Augie. I will have to get some Pru Blue, I have the other colors.
8 November 2017, 23:04

Thanks Augie. Up to date pictures of the F-84G are up also.
15 November 2017, 20:10

This one finally got some paint today. I got the belly painted.

Thank's Aug's. It has been a slow go, but it is getting there.

Great work Clifford! I'm at the decalling stage now too. Will post some pics

Thank you James and Erik. Looking forward to seeing yours Erik.
20 January 2018, 04:10

Looking very good Clifford! Like I said, 50% cooler (at least 🙂 ) with Dutch markings
20 January 2018, 18:56

Thank you Wim, and Thomas. I get that streaked effect by applying a pastel wash to it and let it dry for about 20 minutes, then take a moistened paper towel and remove the wash in the direction of airflow until I get the desired effect. Canopy mask are removed now and she is ready for final weathering/chipping,and final small bits.
21 January 2018, 00:27

Thanks Martien. I think my next project is going to be my Iterali 1/32 F-104G, so let's take a vote Dutch or German?
23 January 2018, 00:29

Cliffy, keep building these classic birds please! Just love watching you create these things!
26 January 2018, 08:47

Very nice finish Clifford....much cooler than German markings 😉
26 January 2018, 13:46

Thank you all for your very kind words, they are very much appericated. @Peter I am glad you like my "classic" birds. I enjoy taking a less expensive kit and make it look as nice as some of the new super kits, though I am now starting to invest in some of the newer kits.
27 January 2018, 00:37

Wow, that is nice! Now I gotta start looking for an F-84 for my stash... LOL
27 January 2018, 02:30

Thanks Michael. The Hobby Bosss kit looks pretty nice. I think Encore's release of it is still around. And I think Kinetic did one also. I think Erik did the Iterali one.
