Hey everyone, I started a new project, It's an resin Stargate with an diorama base. I found the Stargate on Ebay and it scale about 1/48. The Stargate is based on the Movie I think. The Stargate came with a poor finish so I am going to repaint the gate. The diorama I am planning will not have the same Stargate base and ramp like in photo one but will have some kind of sand ground cover. The paint I am going to use is craft paint I got from Hobby Lobby. I tested several colors. I am looking for a dark metallic look. I finally used a mix of Folkart "Charcoal Black" and Decoart "Extreme Sheen "Pewter" thinned 50:50 with my home brewed thinner and airbrush with an very old airbrush. After painting I dry brushed the Gate with Vallejo "Oily Steel. More photos up soon.

Torsten, I am thinking that I will super glue the top of the ramp flush with the Stargate base and just place the bottom of the ramp on top of the plaster, when cover the bottom of the ramp with plaster and sand. That my idea so far. More photos up soon.

New photos up today. The diorama is now painted and the ramp installed and the sand cover layed down. The Stargate diorama is now done. It was a fun build and the largest diorama I have done so far to date. If I can find some nice people I may add them later.
