I am back with part 2 of "Earth vs Flying Saucers". This time the Saucer will be crashing into the Washington Monument as seen in the movie. I will build an 1:283 scale Washington Monument . Once done I will cut the gaping hole in the Monument and the Saucer and the debris and rubble. The monument will be 3 inches (75mm) at the base and 24 inches (610mm) tall.

Kerry, you are RIGHT about that. The Saucers also crashed into the US Capitol but I am not going the build that one.

Would the 1/48 Testors "Area S4 UFO Revealed" kit be too big. ?

Kerry, I have not seen the Testor's UFO but at 1:48 scale I would think it would be.

Thanks mate, and yes, I was just wondering as this will be a most interesting project, especially to see how you are going to suspend those large pieces of the monument in the air. 🙂

Kerry. I am wondering how I am going to do it too. I have the four faces of the Monument cut out now, so I am just getting in to the details. I am trying to get this all done by mid July for the US IPMS National convention. More photos soon.

John, I posted a photo some time back of a scene from the "Mad Max" movie where a car had ploughed through a caravan that was being towed, and all the pieces of the caravan were suspended in mid air and, it won gold .
In fact, I would like to get a copy of it to you as you may get some ideas/clues as to how to do it.

John, I have found the photo, and what I will do, is post it as an album here on SM, and when you have had a look, I will remove it as it's only one photo, but a must see mate, you will love it. 🙂

Kerry, that sounds great. I will need all kinds of ideas for this one.

Kerry, cant wait for the new reboot "Mad Max" movie, just love all those cars.

Kerry, I just saw your "Mad Max" Project, OMG dude that is outstanding work. It looks so real. Thanks for the photo. I hope to make Max proud.

I have done more work on the Monument and Saucer. I am now painting the Monument and have started work on the base. The Saucer is painted and done ready to install in the Monument when I finish the painting.
