Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus

A tank in a scale I feel just about every armour modeller wants to touch on at least once. I've always been fascinated by the Maus, not in the sense of it as a genuine weapon but as a extreme oddity. This Takom kit is more widely available (but still somewhat rare) than the Dragon kit, and I luckily stumbled upon both for good prices. I'm sure I'll work on the Dragon kit sometime this year. The kit's tracks are absolutely miserable to build, so I only built half due to most of it being covered by the sides of the hull anyway. The paint scheme is based on a black and white photograph of the Maus during trials. Displaying it next to my E-100, both are impressive, but highlight the extreme impracticality of both.
