I've always wanted to try out Academy's Rhino and now I got the chance. Since majority of Phantoms from the box will sport the SEA camouflage, I've picked the early scheme with the Light Gull Gray and White combo. This particular frame s/n 64-0676 served at Cam Ranh Bay Air Base in 1966 when the scheme was changed to SEA. Since it was a very busy warbird, there will be a lot of ordnance. Red silouetthe of F-105 Thunderchief is not an usual kill mark and #676 earned it when it was ordered to execute an airstrike on crash landed Thud in order to prevent Soviets or NVA from getting the undamaged parts from the crash site. I didn't understand that kill mark, but later one Vietnam veteran told me an old adage: "A kill is a kill" 🙂
