Not a great model maker, just on a nostalgia trip. Really enjoying getting started again.
Designed and developed in 1959, and off the production line in 1960, I first served with Airfix from 1968, initially with the Jet Provost in its plastic bag. This model was a tribute to polystyrene cement, and those which followed were not much better. I finished my first tour of duty around 1975 on Revell 1/16th scale dragsters and funny cars. There was some painting of lead figures in 1978 when Dungeons & Dragons first appeared, and I returned to Airfix and Tamiya occasionally in the eighties, despite producing three of my own "helpers"...
I then took a long break to 2015, completing some of the 30 year shelf of doom projects, during a complete refit of workshop, and encouraged by Internet interest.
At the moment I prefer aircraft in the one true scale, and pretty much out of box finishes, but this could change...
