Got back into the hobby last year when I was off work with an injury and needed to occupy myself. Now I have a dedicated modeling lair in the basement and an out of control stash of kits.

I build mostly 1/72 aircraft but I've been buying pretty much anything 1/72 lately (tanks, figures etc) with the plan to start making small dioramas to display the aircraft with. I also have an interest in 1/350 ships and my current project is a scratch/kitbash 1/350 WWII Bangor Minesweeper HMCS Red Deer which is about 90% complete. Most of it is scratch built with some assists from the Mirage flower class corvettes and Trumpeters tribal class destroyers for deck fittings and other goodies. I'm building it in honour of my Gramps who served on her through most of the war. I have an RTV silicon mold of the hull and bridge superstructure for anyone else out there that would like to tackle a Bangor Steam Reciprocating 1941 version of this ship in 1/350. I'll try posting a photo once I figure out how!
