Typically, one I wanted to have because of the cool box art and the surfboards. The first surprise was the missing dashboard! But Round2 did a really great job, sending me, for free, a replacement dashboard. To get it, took less than 10 days: Fantastic service of Round2! All parts in the kit need some cleaning, the original dating from 1965. There are several wheels and tire options. The available factory colors for 1965 didn't convince me. So, I decided to go with a day two car, airbrushing MCW Ford bittersweet metallic on the body, came out mat, wet sanded a bit but with no clear coat. The interior is not very detailed, so simply sprayed semi gloss black with chrome accents where possible. The same for the chassis with molded in exhaust and one piece suspensions. I chose the lower positions for the metal axles. I cleaned and applied Bare Metal Foil to the underside of both bumpers since the attachment points are really heavy, plus some seem lines for a better look. If only touched up with a chrome pen, would not be very clean. There are no mirrors in the kit, but luckily I found what I wanted in my spare parts. The engine is wired with added battery cables and heater hoses to fill the engine compartment a bit. A new tree in this kit consists of the two surf boards and the six pieces for the roof rack. The decal sheet looks great, colorful, with gauges and lots of possibilities to decorate the car and the boards. But: the decals are fragile, only some seconds in (cold) water, no decal solution, and it is very difficult to move them in place. After a couple seconds they are brittle! All in all, a pleasant build with a lot of cool options!
