Personal interest:
The S-75 is a strategic air defense sytem that can engage targets at long ranges (up to 28 miles) and high altitudes (up to 82,000 feet). It consists of a SNR-75 radar and 6 missile launchers. Iraq placed these systems near high value assets, but their range stretched into the no-fly zone patrolled by Operation Southern Watch aircrews.
