The 1981 the South African GP was scheduled to be the opening round of the 1981 F1 Championship, however an on going feud between FOCA and FISA resulted in the race run as a non-championship race with no points awarded. This is the only race in 1981 that Arrows ran in this all-over orange paint scheme...the rest of the year it was run with an orange cockpit surround and white side pods'
