Thanks. This is my first serious project after returning to modeling. I made it in 2019 as a gift for my father, who flew one in post-war Mielec at the turn of the 1940s and 1950s. My father was born in 1930 in Mielec, Poland, where the aircraft factory (PZL Mielec) was located. He was fascinated with aviation from childhood. The model is far from perfect, but I'm glad it looks good in the photos 🙂

Thanks. When I built this model, my father was 89 years old and I had to hurry. He passed two years later. This model is one challenge after another - natural wood, transparent canvas, wires. It was my first encounter with photo-etched elements. This wasn't a one-evening (not even one month) project and I learned a lot - especially patience 🙂 Today I would do many things differently - I would separate the control surfaces, I would install the turnbuckles differently, I would use different effects when painting the canvas, I would replace more parts with scrach.

Superb - you've really created the light passing through the canvas very, very well - impressive works indeed. I'm sure your father would have enjoyed the memories it evoked 🙂 The flowery Spring meadow looks great too 🙂

Thank you very much. I hope that in the future I will be able to simulate the light passing through the canvas much better Blooming meadow is great, but not made by my hands. This is a ready-made mat from Model Scene (F562)

A realy great result. Your canvas and wood look very realistic. The 4 times I could fly a replica af this great glider are 8 of the most fun minutes in my life. I hope your father had similar positiv memories about the SG.
