That's a nice car. i have the tamiya Porsche 962C also but tamiya made a big mistake on that by putting in all the clear parts and left it with impossible mold lines in the middle of all the clear parts, think its the same with the 956 from tamiya 🙁

Hi Ferry, Guido & Alex. Great start Ferry!!! everybody rates Tamiya but they don't always get it right & when they get it wrong, boy do they get it wrong...

Tnx for your comments guys. I've got the Tamiya still in my stash. Besides the engine detail and detachable rear end, the Tamiya has the other tail-end with the low rear spoiler. Interior detail on the Tamiya seems to be not as sharp as this one is. Tires on the Tamiya are looking a bit "to fat" compared to the Revell/Hasegawa tires. So all in all I personally like this model better than the Tamiya one.

What colour/manufacturer did you use on the bodywork Ferry? it looks not bad from the pic...

Hi Steve, it's Revell Aquacolor 36130 orange. The Porsche has received an nice thin additional layer of this orange in the meantime, and I'm preparing for the decals now. More pics to follow.

Guido, you're spot on. I just borrowed this technique from AFV and aircraft builders to give it a try.

No worries Guido. Thank you. Next subjects are Gunze Triumph TR 3, a topic all ready started, Airfix Jaguar XKR, also started, and working on the Italeri Range Rover "Dakar" for our secret project with IPMS Holland in october this year. From the last one I haven't made no photo's yet, I keep forgetting to do so. And a review model is on the way, for the IPMS magazine. So very busy😢

Album info
The year 2012 marks the 30th anniversary of the Porsche 956/962 Group C racing cars. So an extra good reason to build one from my stash. The bright orange Jagermeister colors are great, and will be an eyecatcher in my collection.
