luciano gianfilippiI was really astonished when I saw your kit.
I have one model from Frog Fokker D.XXI build 40 years ago and another to build
new in bag (waiting in my garage...).
But my model is a monster in a mirror with your wonderful Fokker D.XXI
You say "some corrections": I suppose a waterfall of corrections
The panels are completely reinscribed, antenna and fuselage details seems all
schracthbuild and the interior of cockpit shows the tubular structure
Absolutely perfect, including the camouflage, and position lights
Super work!

Erik Houghton AutorThank you Luciano! It is far from the best kit out there but for one originally molded in 1963, is actually very good. The Frog kit is a better start point than the PM one, certainly.

Erik Houghton AutorI did the best I could on the camouflage from several different sources. The markings are from before the Munich Crisis, when the orange triangles were adopted. Here is one of the photos that inspired me: [img1]

Bjoern KipperbergI have two MPM Fokker G-1 kits. They have shape issues but i don`t really care. They are so rare anyway that just having them in kit form is a feat in itself🙂 I also have the Rareplane kit (vacform) It is almost as thick as usual styrene and not at all reminiscent of a vac form kit. A combination of the two would not seem totally out of order. While i already built up the old matchbox kit, i also have the MPM D.XXI kit. I `m sorry to say i never did have any airlines kits.

Robert RThis is very nice! So clean, and the detail is great. Can I ask what you use for the 7.92mm guns in 1:72 - I have some 0.8mm brass tubing and was thinking it is maybe too large for this scale?

Erik Houghton AutorI used some Evergreen plastic rod for the gun barrels, lightly drilled the ends. I forget exactly which size, it was either 0.20 or 0.25 inch rod.
Eend, I was going to have Mike Grant print out new Fokker script decals for me, but then I came across a good original Frog decal sheet. It is currently in a window bleaching the little bit of yellowing they had out, and the scripts will go on after I get back from vacationing back in Colorado.

Erik Houghton AutorGreco, which of the navigation lights? All were made from heated sprue mashed through one of my scribing templates. The red and green wing tip lights I ended up painting with a little bit of color blending and a white highlight point (a dot), I couldn't find a clear red or green plastic that kept a strong enough color at that size. The clear/white nav lights on the top and bottom fuselage and the tail fin had their bases painted white prior to gluing them on.

Erik Houghton AutorMurad, it is a bulb of thick white glue. The post on the fin was made from a piece of brass, the main post from shaped plastic rod with a metal wire stiffener, and the antenna itself from elastic mending nylon.

EendIt's a shame there aren't more kits of it around. 🙁 it's in my humble opinion the best looking fighter built by Fokker.

Gabor SzaboIt's really amazing what You brought out this old kit. I remember this kit in Novo boxing and see the level of details of Yours I hardly beleive this is the same kit! I have a MPM in 1:72 half built and a CA in 1:48 but after this I think make something else😉

Unfortunately, Bart, I don't remember exactly which colours I used. I believe the brown was Vallejo Model Air 71.043, the tan I think was a bottle of Model Master Acryl RLM 02, the green.............I do not recall at all, though I think it was also from Model Master.

Painted up and based, as No 215 at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, 1939. All markings masked and sprayed, still waiting for hand-made "Fokker" script to be added to rudder fin.
