Thanks for the picture, but you have a moral obligation to post more...

looks great... how was it to build? I once tried the Victor form Matchbox/Revell and failed

Hi Lionel...moral obligation? I was not aware 😉 The model is too large to fit in my light booth for photos, so I'll have to take it outside soon. Hello, Robert...thanks very much! It was fun to build and there was absolutely no drama with it at all. This is a new mold from Airfix and I definitely recommend this kit. Just be prepared to have enough room to store it when it's finished and add enough weight to the front end to prevent it from being a tail sitter. I'm planning on hanging it on the wall or from the ceiling just it doesn't get damaged.

I like it a lot. Never seen this before finished. That's huge.

Looks superb, John 👍 Which show is that, and how did the Valiant do?

Well, it was my only idea for trying to persuade you go take more pictures. But I think I can wait (a little...) 🙂)

Excellent build on this old kit! Did You engrave the Panel lines? They look fantastic! y)

Looks great in this picture, a very convincing build with crisp details.

Michel...yes it is for it's scale. In fact, the judges had to move a bunch of 1/72nd scale fighters out of the way for it to fit on the show table. Mike...thanks very much! This photo was take at my club's annual show BuffCon 30 back in April. It took silver (2nd place) for it's category. Lionel...I'm going to take some pictures in a few minutes since it's stopped raining...stay tuned. Christian...thank you very much 🙂 It's not an old kit, in fact it's one of Airfix's new molds since the company was reorganized. The kit was a lot of fun to build and what you see is "out of box". It didn't have to add a lot of extras. The exception being some plumbing in the wheel wells, the pitot tubes are made from hypodermic needles and I used some clear sprue to the wing tips to simulate lights and simply brush painted Tamiya clear green and red over them....it's a cracking kit and I have another one that I'll paint in the grey/green scheme. Aghis...thanks very much and the details are very crisp indeed.

I've seen this in person, and it's really well done! For those wondering which kit this is, it's this one:
Vickers Valiant BK.Mk.1 (Airfix A11001, 1:72)
So, John, which one is next the Victor or the Vulcan? 🙂

A11001

Hi Vin...I do too...very aggressive stance for such a large airframe.

All three V Bombers are in my stash and on my list. Waiting only for my retirement probably! 🙂

I know the feeling...I'm retiring in 12 years when the house is paid off. I have two Vulcans (the MPC pop of the Airfix kit) and a Victor...I'm procrastinating with them because I DON"T LIKE SCRIBING PANEL LINES 😉

I hear you, scribing isn't one of my better abilities! But scribe we must, because raised panel lines are no longer allowed according to the Modelling Trend of the Month Club! 🙂
Retire in 4 years, house is already paid for! Woo hoo! 🙂

Hi John,

perfect built... Looks like a big white angel with a nasty surprise in the bomb bay. 🙂

Bill....you lucky dog! I think I own three or four scribers, one of them is home made and works about the best. Although, the one I have by UMM works very well too. Hi Christian...thanks very much! That is indeed a nasty surprise since it's a nuclear weapon!

@John: Thank you very much for this Information. I did not know that Airfix invested in new Tools to realize this kit. I build the Vulcan decades ago and struggleld with raised Panel lines. So maybe I shall try this one. It is an Impressive aircraft in any way.

Thanks for the new pictures.
You really did a great job with this kit and the result is stunning. There's no default and with a white plane this mustn't be an easy job...

Thanks, Lionel...I am truly humbled. Honestly, I didn't have a problem at all with an all-white paint job. The bare plastic was airbrushed with a Tamiya light grey acrylic and covered with Tamiya matt white. I then clear coated with Future/Kleer and added a dark grey enamel wash to highlight the panel lines.

Album info

Most of these photos were taken quickly on my Kodak digital camera on my dog rot picnic table...not my preferred back drop but the model is too large for my photo booth...c'est la vie!
