leaning back to watch another fine piece of art emerging🙂 That prop is already a little gem. What kinds of wood do you use?

This build was already started with the engine 2 1/2 years ago. After some trouble with the Brisfit I made reactivated this build and made the Wotan 4-blade. The wood is all pear, but different pieces.

This is sooo beautiful! Another mindblowing bughunter-project is on its way to perfection. I'll watch!

Propeller is already a jem, as expected from bughunter.... I will certainly not miss this one 🙂

Thank you for your nice words! Thomas, that is a nice kit, the build is pure fun until now! The fuselage is closed now, so I uploaded the next batch of pictures.

11 September 2018, 20:24

Well, not sure how the hell I missed this... Very, very nice. Those guns are excellent 👍
11 September 2018, 21:43

Thank you mates! Now I have metal color on the gun casing, pictures soon ...
12 September 2018, 17:30

Bugs. Sorry I am late in coming in for a look mate. 👍
I do admire your work and the lack of yards of thick paint that can hide so much detail. 👍
The MG is the example I am referring to, as that is just a stand alone item right there. 🙂
Have you ever used the 'buffing metalizer' paints by Testors. ? As it is perfect for the smallest PE parts, in that it is super thin and the pigments don't clog any fine recesses or detail, perfect for the engine and guns. 👍
Just a thought mate. No telling you what to do. 👍
I do love what you have achieved. Most exciting. 🙂 👍
12 September 2018, 22:46

Thank you Kerry, also for the hint to the metalizer. It's new for me. I used 3 different Alclads on the gun casings, it's also very thin. I need daylight for good pictures, soon.
13 September 2018, 18:50

Bugs, Alclad is something I am very comfortable with also. Great results and your certainly happy with it too I see. hehehehe 🙂 🙂 👍
13 September 2018, 21:52

Next batch of pictures after a "happy little accident", which improves the model.
14 September 2018, 19:56

Looks great! When you say "fixing ropes", what do you mean? Looks like two spacer discs 🤔
15 September 2018, 02:20

Thx mates! Alec, the cowlings in WWI were made from thin aluminium, and are secured by a steel cable (or two in this case) around the cowling on fuselage side. I know a good walkaround of a Fokker showing this detail, but that web site seems to be killed 🙁 Also my Morane-Saulnier Type N has this.
Both nickel silver wires (0.2mm and 0.1mm) embrace the cowling and ends on bottom side.
15 September 2018, 12:42

Ha! Caught, now i see who does the rigging and PE Bending for you...
hope your little fellow gets some extra Meal today....🙂
BTW Your assistant is a real beauty.
23 September 2018, 20:28

A SPIDER??? Noooow we know... Looks awesome, the buckles, decals, the whole works 👍
23 September 2018, 22:53

Thx mates! Daniel, I don't know which kind this beauty is?!
Kerry, that is a good idea. Should go to the doctor and ask for additional 2 (or better 4?) hands! 🙂
24 September 2018, 14:52

Seems like a zebra spider, salticus scenicus. It could hop on top of your wing at once.
24 September 2018, 15:17

Hi Frank, this is a very beautiful example of a "Zebraspringspinne"...
Don't konw the english word for them Zebra Jump SPider 🙂 I guess
Good shot btw.
