Somua S35 tank, belonging to 4th Cuirassier Regiment. At the outbreak of the Battle of France, the regiment consisted of two groups of squadrons, one group of two squadrons of Somua S35 tanks and another of two squadrons of Hotchkiss H35 tanks.
They participated in combat in Belgium and in Flanders during May 1940.
On May 22, they were in Neuville-Saint-Vaast, attacked from the direction of Mont-Saint-Éloi. The fighting continued after the line of the Dyle was broken. Until the end, the last Somua S-35s were successfully engaged. The very last was sabotaged by their around Dunkirk.
