Hi Steve. I've been brush painting so far and spend an awful lot of time colouring my kits with not-so-good results. I know this kit isn't exactly top quality airbrush, but because it's cheap I'm wondering if it could be a way to test airbrushing. What's your view on it a year after getting it?

I'll be honest - I haven't used it at all!
Sorry,I know that's not at all helpful, but in my case I was considering a second cheap compressor as a portable device or a back-up for my regular compressor in the event I had issues with that.
You may want to have a look at Dred FX's video at Youtube Video
I've learnt an awful lot from Dred FX and would recommend you explore his channel before you try out airbrushing for the first time.

A quick follow up - I just tried the brush and compressor out and can confidently say that they work together exactly as I would expect my normal airbrush setup to work. For a beginner I would definitely recoommend it.
