Am I the last person to know that Eduard's decals need to have the carrier film peeled off?😭😭😭

Eduard have said:
"Regarding the new decals - they can be recognized by having a production date on them - 23.06.2020 and forward.
Its true the coat can be removed once dried, but it requires some skills and experience. We do not suggest to our customers they should or need to do this. The decals can be worked with the same way as before- with the older once. So using the method of removing the top layer is up to the customer - at their own risk."

I think it's worth a try, especially for decals where the carrier film cannot be easily removed (ie late luftwaffe crosses). I admit I have yet to try it. Here is article from Eduard's Info website. info.eduard.com/en/how-to-apply-eduard-decals

Alex K, thank you sharing the article. The decal looks great after peeling off the film. I will try.

I gave peeling the film a try, but decided to handle their decals in the traditional way. As long as there are no panel lines, esp. thicker ones, it worked for me. But if there are, the risk of peeling off the printed decal part rises, resulting in disappointment and color touch ups!

I know I come late to the discussion, but a fellow modeler in my usual forum has made some tests, thay can be peeled but you have to be very careful because the underlying surface must be super smooth. What's your experience on the matter?
