Elco 80ft torpedoboat

rear splash deflectors were made of this PS sheet. Day cabin roof needed a patch as it had a huge hole (caused by mold tool design) 

PS sheet was used to replicate armor plates around the bridge and walls.
Wings were only thinned by high-grit sandpaper.
Dashboard needed some rework to fit into place. 

 

Life boat (Carley-float) remodeled by using the original part, self-adhesive tape, PS sheet and sewing line. 

 

 

 

superstructure covered by one layer of Mr.SurfacePrimer (1500) to check fittings ans assembly quality (poor).
Also the resin 'chimneys' are fixed to place by CA-glue.  

grab rails (on top of day cabin) were done by 0.5mm styrene rods.
20mm Oerlikon AA-gun (on stern) basement is detailed by some rivets (slices of styrene sprue) 

Some paint brushed to check fitting and marks of assembly (file marks, sandpaper scratches, etc) color is just a dark green, not accurate.  

Twingun deflectors made here of plastic rods and cooper wire. Anyway, to be covered by canvas, so judged as good enough...  

Here again, dark green brushed to check if further filling is needed.

Workbench still after a busy afternoon  

Decided to keep the Carley float in original deck blue shade. Makes the nose colorful. Also the tarp painted.
