you did a very fine job. i have this one waiting to be done, and a ton of aftermarket stuff... if i can make it look half as good as yours, OOB, i will be really happy.

welcome back to the hobby, and welcome to SCM 🙂
And happy birthday 🙂
good year, 1972😉

Thanks for the welcome to SCM and the very kind words about my work! I think I had a lucky break and picked a good kit to resurrect as a return to the hobby - glad you enjoyed seeing the result!

That's a great build. Makes me want to pull mine off the shelf of doom.

Go for it Nathan - it's a great little build with an amazing amount of scope for super detailing or diorama work if you're into that too!

Very nice outcome and comeback. 👍
This is a classic. I've done it a hundred years ago and I've still the kit waiting with a olive base coat, for a new setup.
The guys legs end up in one figure in my 1 ton Esci sdkfz 10/4 model, but you realy got it right. Very well done indeed.

Thank you for the very kind compliment, greatly appreciated Rui! 🙂
Album info
Started in the mid 1990's but never finished. Project resurrected summer 2020 and the first full kit completed since returning to the hobby after a break of 23 years. This is also the first kit I've completed using the airbrush and acrylics, previously using only enamels and brush painting for projects at home. The kit had been part painted and built, so needed dismantling and stripping. This took a couple of weeks on and off, as 23 year old enamel proved a bit stubborn to remove. Paint is Tamiya acrylics, with matt clear coat. Weathering and chipping on the vehicle and jerrycans using a mix of hairspray technique, sponge and finished off with Tamiya weathering powders. The jeep was painted in US Army olive drab with desert yellow over the top for chipping. Figures painted with Tamiya acrylics, skin tones are Citadel Miniatures. Kit was built out of the box with a couple of scratch-built extras: condenser tank pipe is made from a piece of electrical wire; bags, water canteens and goggle straps are made from paper; jerrycan racks make from thin brass sheet. All other accessories are from the kit.
