Tamiya King Tiger
1
April 5, 2021I just finished painting the Tiger I, so naturally we would move over to the Tiger II. This is the Tamiya Ardennes Front King Tiger. My son build it about a month ago, and I am just now getting to painting it. This is my first time painting a ambush camo scheme, and I am very happy with the results. I used Tamiya paints, XF60 dark yellow, XF81 dark green 2, and XF64 red brown.2
April 5, 2021This was my first time trying to get a clean edge with my airbrush. I freehanded this without masks. I did outline my camo scheme with a pencil first. I think that really helped.3
April 5, 2021I thought I might have overdone it with the polkadots, but my son said it looks perfect to him, so I will go with it.4
April 9, 2021I painted the tools and sprayed a gloss coat today.5
April 9, 2021I painted the spent shells Tamiya gold leaf X12. I realized I don't have a brass color paint. I think it looks pretty good, so I am happy with the look.6
April 9, 2021I painted the tools with an Ammo Mig tool color set that I picked up. I mostly used old wood, and German grey. I then sprayed it with Alclad Aqua Gloss. I will try and get the decals on tomorrow.7
May 14, 2021I did some light brush chipping with Mig panzer grey, Vallejo desert sand, and Mig dark brown.8
