I am pleased about your interest in this "small" project! The kit, like much of Matchbox of those days, is of quite high quality and good fitting accuracy.

Not really, rather from an equally notorious hill-raiser: the raised structures on the surfaces are exaggerated and need to be trimmed back a bit.

A bit of colour play on the little Norseman: I'm planning a relatively weathered machine- but just in NMF. These are the preparations for it....

Matchbox - klasse Ding, damit hat wohl jeder einmal angefangen im Modellbau 🙂)

The modified NMF is now reasonably finished; next I will apply gloss clearcoat to prepare the whole for the decals.

Hello Roland, I must say that you always surprise me with the great and rare aircraft that you present here. especially rare models, the Norseman I like so far very well especially the natural metal surface looks very realistic.

Chrisrtian, thank you, I'm very pleased! The decals came up today 🙂

The decals are up! I will now selectively adjust the gloss level and then start "dirtying up".

The Norseman has made it off the workbench, I would like to show you a few pictures of this beautifully shaped machine, better said: model! The Matchbox moulds are now really a bit outdated, the one or other compromise is unavoidable. But the biggest problem - the one with the windows - and the resulting extra work has been homemade and has nothing to do with the quality of the kit. I hope you like the pictures- and now off to new adventures!
PS: the decals show a machine that was also used in Burma as a tug for the Waco; the last two pictures indicate this.

Thank you! Yes, it doesn't always have to be Glenn Miller's plane of destiny!

Only well balanced and happy landings with yin yang wheels... 🙂
Great build in your signature style & photography - I´ve been away for a time, got to catch-up on all your productions in the meantime! 👍

Another great looking finished kit, Roland. Good job on the windows!

Fantastic effect (taking into account that it is a Matchbox kit). Chapeau bas, Roland!

Hi Roland I have to say I am really impressed with what you have done with the old kit. congratulations. did you polish the discs or replace them

Thank you all mates for your interest and your highly motivating comments! Christian, all clear parts - except for the front glazing - were finally replaced with cut and fitted clear film. There was no way around it 🙂

Beautiful work Roland!! Can you please describe the products you use to produce the realistic aluminum finish? As I recall you use a custom mix? Thank you again.

Thank you for your words! From picture 12 you can see the steps of the colouring: I used Gunze H 58 as primer, which I then partially covered with "Maskol". On top of this, I only used "White Aluminum" from Alclad as a metal tone. By rubbing off the dabbed on Maskol, the green primer was exposed again - and thus helped to make a weathered impression.
For those parts that should not be "silver dope", but should show NMF, like on the cowling, I added "Polished Aluminum" on top of the "White Aluminum". But only in very small doses, the "White Aluminum" remains dominant.
I am glad that you like it!
