Thanks Jivko. This was the Kit I was going to add to the Polar GB but just got sidetracked and missed it. Went full colour instead of polar white in the end. 🙂

Hajo 😄 I didn't even think of that, he was a pilot I just had lying around so he got used. As I was only doing this one for a bit of a break and some PE practice I don't mind too much. 👍

I noticed it immediately, because I have a lot of Jetpilots in my stash that I need to rework as helo-pilots when necessary... But great looking anyway! Maybe he´s on a high altitude mission in the Alps! 😉

Looks very good, following with great interest 👍
I have the same PE set lying around and am just waiting for Italeri to release the OH-13 Korean War version of that kit.

Thanks Mates. I'm a bit further on now just had to wait for the decals which weren't great. More photos to follow soonish.

So finally marking this as finished with my first real attempt at a dio/vignette(?). For a much better take on the rotor wash video I attempted to replicate, here is the YouTube link Youtube Video

Very good decision to discard the first dio-attempt. The one with the rotorwash is really special. Thanks for sharing the video.

I agree, the new version is a lot better, great job, and a good Idea 👍🏻

Thanks both. Still not quite right but time to move on. In the video he explains that the glue/water mix should remove the towel print design but mine never seemed to. Guess it depends on the towel brand 😄 also the water effect he was using was more of a gel and so very malleable compared to the AK product I used. Anyway happy with it as a test bed, I have three Sunderlands in the stash so better get used to making water display bases.

Gary, that is indeed a great first attempt! I am also thinking of doing a water dio for the Sunderland....so will use your experience as an aspiration!
