Cockpit assembly

cockpit painted and chipped. Used this session to see how Gunze handled hairspray chipping. 

 

Lead wire was used to detail the oxygen canisters. 

Not my best attempt at a instrument pannel, but the canopy will be closed so this will do. 

Oils were used as a wash, Abteilung Bitume and Buff were used. 

Seeing as the canopy will be closed, I was really debating adding a wash as most of this detail won't be visible. I'm glad I did it because I do feel that it's good practice being away from the bench after so long. 

 

This will be a American Spitfire based in Italy, I really wanted some nice dust tones on the dark surfaces. 

I drilled out the holes on the seat bracing, this was incredibly easy to do and looks fantastic imo. 

I feel I may have overdone it on the seat, but it's acceptable imo. 

I feel that somebody at Eduard really hates the idea of dry fitting a model, it was very hard during the build up to do test fits as the parts don't have secure joining. 

 

Fuselage halves joined together, fit was tricky. 

All that hard work hidden away!
