Detachment 15 of the Air Force Systems Command used a number of F-106A and F-106B aircraft to chase factory fresh Rockwell B-1B bombers from United States Air Force plant 42 prior to Air Force acceptance from 1986 to 1990. They were based at Palmdale Airport in California.
