This was the proposal by Bréguet for the Alpha Jet. As an eleven year old boy, I fell in love when I saw a picture of this mock up in a Dutch booklet. I decided that one day, I would make a scale model of this very elegant design. That day has come, some 50 years later...
What a pity the design was changed when Dornier stepped into the programme.
I have already made some nice progress, see the attached album.
The fuselage is hand shaped from balsa wood. Wings and stabs are modified items from an Airfix DC-9 kit and the landing gear is from a Fujimi British Aerospace Hawk. A plug will be made to form a clear canopy so somewhat of the interior is visible. I will use pilot figures and ejection seats from a Heller Alpha Jet and instrument panels from a PJ Production Mirage two-seater. Decals will be homemade and from the spares box.
I will use the elements I made as masters for silicone moulds, so I can make more than one model.
