not a big fan of this kit...especially for the money it costs....funky moldings, backwards instructions...blah seat with no detail....it will be finished but not with great affection....

....only one plane in the jig at a time and this will definitely be a jig job....the tail is assembled but I don't really like the rigging method.....this is a good livery of this airplane....so, some time will be taken....

...thank you everyone! ....as usual...perfection in modeling will not be found here but his one is OK, right now....the real challenge will be the wing rigging.....looking forward to tackling that...it will be eyelets/ezline and that has worked well before.......

...time to check the rigging plans...and, once again, be annoyed with Lukgraph....their instructions leave out several obvious wires found in historical photos...it didn't make sense so it got checked...not the best research by the Lukgraph team...

If there is one thing that the Internet has done, it has given us a remarkable tool for research, should we choose to use it. Unfortunately, it can be sort of a two edged sword. Some people don't care to dig deeper to find the details and some of us can become sort of paralyzed in our progress, by trying to determine just what details we are capable to add. Ones that will make a dramatic difference to our project. I admire all of you for your diligence to drive our pursuits to a higher level of perfection. Thank you.

....a decision has to be made about the rigging....the black rigging on the back end is complete and is all but blending in with the dark background....should white EZLine have been used?...that would mean completely unrigging the tail and starting over...but...if the model is going to be around for awhile...well...some of my fav rigged models have white rigging...
...can you say "step three steps back"?...sure you can...

Variations between the painted metal, metal, fabric covered wood panels and fabric covered open structures could all represent different final appearances. The dope coatings (cellulose acetate) fade and wear differently based on the underlying fabric (silks, satins, cottons or wood/metal) that the coating is applied to. The mixtures of pigment to the dope is also pretty variable from case to case. Having too uniform a color would look... well... contrived.

Rigging should be represented by the color of the rigging material. Mostly steel, they can be coated (grease), painted or blued depending on the specific use. Just about any color is good but a blackened color is my preference.

If the colors of painted surfaces is of concern, you must remember that field application can vary greatly from what the factory would have applied, due to batch differences, reducing agents, and application methods.
