Hey everyone, since most of you all have been at this hobby for a while I wanted to ask if you all had any kit suggestions for me. Since Christmas is coming up and my mother is pressuring me into writing a letter to Santa because shipping and whatnot takes time, I just thought id ask for good kit suggestions from people with hundreds in their stash and hundreds in their showcase shelf.
Thanks in advance!

If it's kits which are enjoyable to build I'm not sure I'm the best person to answer this. 😄
I generally go for old or ludicrously fiddly little kits. If it's enjoyable kits you can't go far wrong with Tamiya.
What sort of subject are you more leaning towards, tanks, ships, aircraft?

Tanks, im looking to build a full interior kit maybe, or smaller tanks in some sort of dio.
While im not looking for an enjoyable build per say, im looking for a rather affordable kit and something that doesn't have more parts than atoms in the universe 😄

i have never done a tank with interior, but i think good gorby did one, did you not? the "first and last" was the introduction? 😉

Not too many parts, but a kit with a complete interior is usually a contradiction, as such kits usually have a significantly higher number of components.
An easy-to-build kit of a tank with interior and not too many parts would be the following with a good fit:
M113 (Tamiya MM140, 1:35)
M113 ACAV (Tamiya 35135, 1:35)
It has vinyl tracks which means you don't have to spend hours putting the chain together from countless individual parts.
The price is also on the lower side.

For small, affordable and uncomplicated tanks I would head towards Revell, Trumpeter, Hobbyboss or Airfix. Most of those will be 1/72 although some are 1/76. I haven't done them myself but I've heard First to fight and Plastic Soldier are good value although the detail may not be to the same standard. It's difficult to list specific kits (I haven't build many uncomplicated tanks) and obviously many of them may not be currently in production.
Yes I did do one 1/48 full interior kit Spanjaard, which I'm pretty sure did have more parts than atoms in the universe. It was also quite expensive and quite a trial to build. As I haven't done any more of them (and probably never will) I can't recommend any. Hopefully someone else may have some suggestions.
Just have a look though Scalemates or the website of your favourite shops and jot some down.

Agree with Shar Dipree, good kit for a not too complicated interior... it's a good start.

Thanks, mates. Ill look into the M113's. Id love to just write random kits down but the issue is the paints. Painting is a big issue as i dont have many paints. So ill have to take that into consideration. But now thinking back to your Panther, Gorbs I feel the first thought ive probably ever had forming in my head. Either way thanks 👍

the M113 is certainly a great choice. i did M113 ACAV (Tamiya 35135, 1:35) myself (and even did a dio with it), a joy to build, easy to paint, very nice interior, and not complicated. But 1/72 armour as suggested by gorby is also a great idea. did one myself ages ago, and it is still one of my favourite builds, took it with me from Spain to NL even (i wish i could do that with my M113 Vietnam dio....)
