Thanks, though it always looks better in my mind before I build it, than it ends up as in the flesh 🙂

Thanks, though I wouldn't consider it great — I just mess about a bit until it looks OK 🙂

Hello Jakko, great build. As I see you like critics, I would just recomend to tone down the high lights of the fabric of the main canon and the machine gun next to the driver. Nice Build! Congrats!

I think they look a bit starker in photos than they do in the flesh 🙂

Really like that Jakko. In my short experience I've noticed that some people really overdo the weathering. This seems a lot more realistic and not overpowering like some I've seen. Looks classy!
Love those lines with the tension bolts. Are they 3D printed?

Thanks. I tried to have the weathering appear realistic, with the kinds of colours you could expect the tank to pick up in the area it was in before embarking on the landing craft, and the colour of the mud where it came off it again.
The tensioners are cast resin, since they came with the Resicast deep-wading set. As photo 51 shows, I removed part of them to glue in some brass tube, so I could thread the tensioners on fishing line.

Do people use fishing line for the airplane (don't know what they were called. The lines from the cockpit to the vertical tail fin?) ones too?
The wading set was for beach landing mostly, I presume? I think the little airfix 1:76 Cromwell I recently made had an option to have snorkels too. Think they're the same kind of thing. I wish I'd added them now 🙂

I think some people use fishing line for the rigging (that's the word you were after 🙂) on biplanes, yes. I've never rigged a biplane myself, though, so I can't say anything about how tricky that is to do 🙂
And yes, the wading set is to allow the tank to ford through deeper water than it could otherwise, for landing on a beach. The upper parts were discarded almost immediately when the tank got ashore — which is what the tie rods/cables are for: some hold the ducts onto the tank until the commander releases them with the mechanism on the rear turret roof, others are to ensure that the rear duct pulls the front one along with it off the tank.
As for kits that include the wading gear: those usually only provide the ducts, but not any of the other waterproofing necessary to allow the tank to ford deep water. As a result, a lot of modellers build models that have only the bits that would be discarded first, but none of the bits that would be on the tank as well if the ducts are on … But then, not everybody cares to get these things right, I suppose, let alone try and obtain official deep-wading instructions just to build a model 🙂

Thanks 🙂 For those who also find this information interesting and would like to know more, allow me to quickly plug my book on the subject, which is still available: SCM Search: Polderhuis Westkapelle 😉

All the times I've asked you for advice and not once have you told me that you're an author! I think you need a manager or literary agent 🙂
But seriously, you are pretty knowledgeable. I'll have a look. Thanks for the info above. As always.
