Welcome on board guys. Build is now completed and i am moving to the painting stage.

Finished the painting process today. Base color is XF-60 Dark Yellow from Tamiya with a few drops of white for the highlights. The second color ist XF-65 Field Grey aslo from Tamiya. The masking process took me about 7 hours divided on two days. On the first day it was about 4,5h for the sides, front and rear parts and 2,5h on the second day for the roof, engine deck, skirts and the gun.
Hell of a work but the it was worth it.
Now i should have no problems with Chinese Digi and Swedish disturbed camo. 😄

Finished this one yesterday. Took me a while but i am happy with the outcome.
Its a nice kit that is easy and fast to build. The tracks are the only time consuming part of the whole build. One run contains 88 links and is build out of 220 parts. The only downfall for me are the moveable suspensions. Had to glue them in place to make them static.
The main gun can be replaced by a metal one but it is not really necessary as the kit one is good too.

I never cared much for this type of tank until now. 🙂 I prefer the looks of the Jagdpanther myself, though I also like this design now that I look at it.
Q: What kind of tracks did you use? Metal tracks?

Another great work Ingo! Congratulations!
One small observation, if you allow me. In photo 42, the wire cutters seem to have the handles painted as wood. German tanks in WW2 did not use wood for the wire cutter handles but rather bakelite which had a dark red color.

Thank you Dan and David. 🙂
@Dan: Thanks mate. Did not know that. Will consider it for my future WW2 buids. 🙂

Totally nailed it. Not my favorite scheme available, but you did a superb job on it!
The slightly worn look tops it off 👍
A job well done Ingo!

Thank you Rene. 🙂
In the garage the camo looks good but not during the battle. 😄

Hehe yep there are a few schemes like that....
But nice idea borrowing schemes there. They are rarely 'historically accurate' (it's a game after all) but some are darn cool. Might do the same for my JP II or Hetzer maybe... Or the hellcat... Time to download that damned game again😄

There are a few nice camo schemes but you can use them only on Paper Modells as they are, as you say rarely 'historically accurate'. 🙂
Found already a nice camo for my E-75 build. Will be this one: [img1]

Yup that's a nice one. The kit is nice, just the tracks are beyond crappy.

Yes, therefor i got the King Tiger Late Tracks for the build. Should work fine for the tank.

Same here. 😄 The kit tracks bend in sharp edges instead of rolling softly around the wheels. Horrible. Wonder who let these things pass at Trumpeter... And if he still works there 😄
