Hello everyone! Started a new project. Began with completely rebuilding the original resin engine from the kit - it was wrong and oversimplified. First time done something like that!

An update: modified the cockpit a bit. Added structure and control wires, also drilled the holes in the resin seat and added some texture to the cushion.

An update: I've decided to make substitutes for some of the kit's struts from pieces of different brass tubes, by soldering them together. I like the result - defintely better than the short-run molds, but we'll see how they will work out.

To replace the filigree struts with brass is a very good idea according to the reports about this kit.

An update: finished the cockpit. Tried to represent the wooden structure with a combo of different acrylics, some applied by an airbrush and some by dry-brushing. Finished with red and orange varnishes and toned with dark wash. It was my small experiment, and I think that the result looks ok, expecially the floor.
