I think if I build this type of kit again, I will try scratchbuild the two mirrors so that they can be moved up and down. Presumably a piece of metal wire would do for the pole, so as to avoid using plastic which will be brittle.

Btw, when it comes to the towing cables, you might want to try use a piece of bicycle shift or gear wire. I don't remember who suggested that, but seems like a great idea. The gear wire is probably a little too large, but the shift wire might look ok. Admittedly I don't know for sure if the piece of bicycle wire I have at home is a shift or gear wire.

Was that me and the tow cable idea?
The Trumpeter kit comes with copper wire "cable" for the tow cables.

Very promising beginning! I did in 1/72 and it was pretty fiddly...

This kit has the turret in one piece, so that is a good start. Never buy the other kit with the turret in multiple pieces, just annoying to work with. 🙂
