Slavo HazuchaChecked some references and while I did not found exactly your tactical number machine, the discoloration and panel-effects are really good and well matching the wear of the originals 👍 + I really like the "lo-vis for camouflage" version of the Dutch colors roundel applied here... 🙂

Jasper Breur АвторThank you Steven! I am sure it would be possible, but just like the real thing it would be very tricky. The timing between the blades is essential, and making a gearbox like the real thing is next to impossible.

Jasper Breur АвторThank you Spanjaard, Olivier! I debated that, but it would be very difficult to do. The timing on the rotors is crucial, and I don't see how I could have done that properly. Then there's the vibrations. I think it would have destroyed the model!

Steven Van DyckI consider to try it on my new Academy 1/48 Sea Knight, that's why I brought it on. But I would try to have it go slowly, on an engine startup, to avoid vibrations that would cause it to jam. I've got some rotor PE to make things more complicated... It would rule out the idea you got for this diorama, to have it "airborne". But it should be possible with two differentials to keep the rotors matched.

TreehuggerI love the obvious solution for keeing the heli up in the air and how the Chinook dominate the base plate. I like it alot. 🙂

Jasper Breur АвторInteresting idea Steven. I think a differential is a must, or ar least some connection between the rotors. I don't think two separate motors can be timed reliably enough to prevent a rotor strike. I didn't want to tackle those problems on this build as it could very well have ruined an other wise very nice project, but I'm curious to see how you can make it work!

I have the Italeri 1/48 ACH-47A attack version put away to build at some point.

Jasper Breur АвторThank you gentlemen! James, the build was pretty straightforward. No major fit issues, but some filler was required to fit the fuselage over the interior nicely.
