Took pictures and filled the what's in the box section. Will start this tomorrow. Due to COVID quarantine only some non-painting work can be done.
11 November 2020, 21:59

Everything that can be glued, is. All other parts are cut, sanded, bagged and boxed again. Nothing to see here
13 November 2020, 10:00

Yup I was positive last week on a Wednesday and have been hiding in the attic ever since. I managed to bring some hobby stuff along. Mostly cutting and sanding etc. No spray booth here!
13 November 2020, 11:46

Damn, hope you are doing ok..wishing you the best mate 👍
It's nice that you have enough kits to keep you busy even tho you can't paint them..
13 November 2020, 11:51

I have more kits to prep than I can handle 😄
I'm doing reasonably well. No more coughing and sneezing. Breath is coming back.
13 November 2020, 12:42

Take care Martin! I'm glad to hear you're starting to feel better and hope you get back to a 110% as soon as possible!
13 November 2020, 15:33

Thank you gentlemen! 110% might take a while😄 I'll settle for 105% 😉
13 November 2020, 18:03

As covid struck again two weeks ago, I couldn't help but get this again and this time sand all the parts way better.
10 October 2022, 13:27

Hope you're feeling better, Martin. I've been eyeing up a few C-car models, so I'm anxious to see this one completed.
17 November 2022, 05:34

As soon as the Mercury or Monkey is finished, this one will get its due time in the booth.
17 November 2022, 05:48

Hope that now you're well ... I also had covid 3 weeks ago and I really don't fabcy having it again
Keep up the good work .. congratulations !!!!!
17 November 2022, 07:48

Completely missed this one martin sorry to see you have had a bad run
Hope all is good and you keep building on your model
Looks great will take a seat
17 November 2022, 12:34

She's progressing slowly in the right direction. It took a long day in two sessions to get all the decals on the body. After clearcoating, the work on the engine and interior will continue.
24 December 2022, 20:01

Used sms clear. Now my tamiya lacquers are dirty? And the decals are wrinkled. 🤬
28 December 2022, 15:36

Ah Martin, sorry that happened to your lovely build. I've never used that product before so I can add no insight.
28 December 2022, 17:23

Yep Martin very sorry to see that and very interested in knowing why that happened im sure there will be someone that can explain
That
28 December 2022, 20:51

I hope there is o e of those cases that it is possible to fix it, it was going really well
28 December 2022, 23:03

The SMS super clear is hotter than their regular clear. That ate the decals.
This one is going on pause again until the replacement decals have arrived and I want to continue, again.
29 December 2022, 11:52

Really sorry about what happened, but if somebody can recover this one, it is you. Nobody better to pull a Martin than Martin himself 🙂
30 December 2022, 15:45

Martin already started his Martin. Dipped the body in IPA. Takes a while, takes a lot of rubbing.
30 December 2022, 15:57

Just jumped on this mate. COVID, the cause of many built models! Glad you're ok buddy. Shame about the paint job though.
This is why I get pretty anal about testing different products, before committing to the model. When I hit my blue 359 with the clear coat, it welled in a couple of placed, and caused a crazed effect? When I stripped off the paint, the crazing had gone right to the plastic! I swore then, NEVER AGAIN! I'm still amazed by the recovery of the kit, to this day. But, it was a lesson learned. Something else that I tend to do now, is leave my paint to cure, for weeks. This is mainly because of work commitments, but I've had less hassle?
I'll hang around to check on your progress mate. Keep safe 👍
31 December 2022, 11:48

I have used the same clear on my police car without problems. So perhaps the Tamiya decals were more fragile than the Revell decals. And at least 20 years older.
The body is stripped and fully sanded. Waiting for painting time 👍🏻 again
1 January 2023, 16:26

It was a busy day. Painted the Group C Toyota white (again), put some Calsonic blue on the race GT-R and matt black and semi-gloss black on the regular GT-R
12 February 2023, 15:16

Keep on ! ,,, It looks that this Toyota i giving you some trouble !
13 February 2023, 07:41

My decanted Tamiya paint seems a bit overthinned. The white isn't opaque enough. So I sprayed some Zeropaints white over it.
After a night to dry, masking began for the blue. No pre-cut masks this time 🫣
27 February 2023, 07:05

I've been here before?
I had to be creative as these decals definitely weren't for this kit. Too large to fit in the designated spaces.
2 March 2023, 22:26

Superb work Martin! Those stripes and decals, look like a heck of a job! I saw a Manga decal race car, on here the other day, and it drove me dizzy, just looking at it! Credit to you and all the race car modellers out there. My Scania Imperial Express was enough to drive me crazy, so how you boys do it constantly, is beyond me!

GSR Bmw Z4 GT3 Super GT 2013
You'll see exactly what I was talking about.
The very patient guy I saw, was called Near_You. Amazing stuff

If the decals are the right size and you have the right tools, it isn't that hard. It's just a lot of work. The Shunku decals on my Stratos were very thick and really hard to do. The Shunkus on this one were very good, thin and easy around the bends.
Tip: use decal softener AND a hair dryer.
3 March 2023, 06:32

Exactly that one mate!
I have to admire the guy's stamina.
I too use a softener. Micro Set and Sol, are always on my bench. However, I have to be in the right mood, for applying decals. I also prefer natural light, when I'm doing them.
4 March 2023, 11:37

This is such a beautiful car. Nice to see it in the hands of a master builder.
28 April 2023, 17:27

Thank you fellers! Greg, I do appreciate the comment, but master builder is too much. I'll settle for Most-Persevering builder 😉
29 April 2023, 06:57

YES! After 2,5 years, 2 covid infections, 2 paint jobs, 2 decal sheets and loads of aaaaaaaagh, she is finished!

29 April 2023, 12:00

Lmao. I recently got a memory from my phone, pictures from 3 years ago. Some of those builds, are still not finished! We do what we can, when we can, and eventually everything is Rosie. Nice work Martin, you nailed it in the end 👍
29 April 2023, 12:07

I get those reminders every day at 9. Great if your kids are growing up, or if you want to see what you were building 6 years ago!
29 April 2023, 12:22

Martin ispite all the setbacks
its been a great build to watch
All your troubles have been something we can all learn from
And at the end you managed make a fabulous model
29 April 2023, 15:46

Máster in perseverance is too little, most people would have given up, but you not only persevered, but made a fantastic job, she looks really fantastic!!! Congratulations!!
