Well, I just repeat what is written on the box. This kit is based very likely on the world's very first SciFi-model-kit released 1954 by Lindberg. This kit was used 1959 in the SciFi-trash-movie PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE. Check wiki for more details on this.

Since 1954 some reissues from different companies followed. But yet, also for the first time, Polar Lights connected the kit with the movie. If you are going to built a fleet of UFO's from classic movies ... don't miss this one!
