This kit calls for some good brass or gold paint....so, the decision was to try the new AK Brass metallic...it is an enamel, so no easy clean up like acrylics, but the results are very nice, indeed.

....not bad for a first go.....just a bit of touchup and some missed parts of the hand painted FORD....this AK paint brushes well....closeups like this are great to see little flaws.....

.....masking tape "straps" made and painted brass after a blue respray of the fuel tank....installed here on the seat base.....

....plug wires and mount made from thin strands and scrap plastic...

....recently acquired acrylic weathering pencils used here to bring out the "FORD" symbol...also used on fuel tank...

...these Eduard landing lights are a good fit as lenses inside the lamps...one of the lamps is blue and red so its glass insert has been painted on the inside...all these get built and a final spray over the glass is done after masking..

… it would be nice if all our panel line efforts were so easy....this seems like a good candidate for a resin insert with two parts along the hinge line...there are several versions of this kit and they all use the same engine cover...I gave a few minutes of time deciding it would be nuts to try to saw and disconnect the kit parts...

...end of the "naked engine" series........the engine and wiring is another area that might be good for a resin/photoetch upgrade....not bad but could be better...maybe ICM expected it to be under the engine cover for most of the time....

Thank you, everyone!

As usual. the photos have revealed an area that can be improved...the headlights...the glass inserts are a bit rough and can be cleaned up.....and a "lens" brought out from the back of the light to be more prominent...the good news...the lights are just press fit on the mounts and should come off and go back easily...

New headlight photos are up.....and are a bit dusty because I forgot to brush it off....anyway...more photos tomorrow with redone headlights and less dust!
