T.O.B Batmobile 1966 Final Build

“Atomic batteries to power. Turbines to speed. Roger. Ready to move out.” Lights from Evans Design The 1966 Batmobile always seems to turn heads. This depicts every detail of the iconic TV car. T.O.B is made its own expression of this Batmobile. There is quite a bit of kit bashing going on in this building. There is still a lot to do.

Sound Module: Installed inside the Batmobile itself a WayinTop 6-volt, 8MB, bottom controlled programmable MP3 sound module. The sound file is the traditional 1966 Batman and Robin theme song mixed with some quotes from other characters in the show and Batman himself.

LED Lights: In the back, I excavated the taillights and installed clear styrene and two Mega reg lights. The main center exhaust I have a 1.8mm LED’s put together as “Flickering Fire Kit:” to simulate fire effect. In the exhaust pipes, I replaced them with shrink wrap tubes and slip fiber optics to stiffen it and installed flickering red LED lights shooting up into the optical cylinders to simulate them firing off projectile objects as shown in the 1966 show. In the front there is a lot happening. Installed yellow Knight Rider lights moving in the opposite direction. I also have a custom made 4 yellow nano “Flash Warning for Model Radio Towers” and have it firing off downward. I have traditional Mega cool while LED for the headlights. To finish the animated look, I have two breathing blue Pico LED Lights illuminating from the main hood. Behind the cockpit I have some flashing red LED. The dashboard comprises of a mixture of flashing, solid and Knight Rider LED lights. Kit Review: Polar Lights 1966 Batmobile and is 1/25 Scale Measuring 5-3/4" W x 8-1/4" and L x 4-3/4" H. The kit includes Pre-painted PVC Batman and Robin figures. It’s a snap together model and although it has 115 parts it is easy to construct. Arguably one was the cool Batmobile designed by George Barris who turned the Lincoln Futura concept car into the Batmobile in only three and a half weeks.
