Klemm L.25

Very interesting... Even with some necessary assumptions and "educated guesses", this was a worthwhile project you undertook and brought to fruition (twice!) - thumbs up! 👍 👍

Thank you! I felt pushed to build them as my friend had spent a good few hours trying to get references for me...and I had to do with what I had.
So yes, far more "educated guesses" than usual for me. I have become used to having references for almost every subject...
Maybe some day a better picture of the real thing will appear, who knows.
Album info
In 1931 one or two light planes overflew Sevilla and dropped leaflets as part of the political effort of Blas Infante.
Blas Infante is a very significant person for us the Andaluces. He is considered by many as the "father of Andalucía", and is honored in almost every town here.
I made some research on the subject but not much is available so this is a "could probably have been". Sources disagree even on the lettering that was specifically added to at least one of the aircraft: some sources say it was VIVA ANDALUCIA, others ANDALUCIA LIBRE. I decided on the later just because the letters were more even that way.
The pilots were Antonio Rexach and Ramón Franco. One of the sources specifically adds a photograph which might be somewhat suspicious but that clearly shows a radial engined Klemm L.25. There was only one such Klemm registered in Spain during those days, EC-DAD, so I went with that registration and the rest is what you see. It might well have been a completely different aircraft, who knows. But I felt I needed to to this.
I made two models, one is for a friend who went through the historical records to find the little that could be found.
The LF kit is wonderful, simple, as suits for a simple aircraft, and beautifully moulded. It includes the parts for both radial and inline engine versions.
I painted it with Vallejo acrylics and gave it some burnt sienna Titan oils, stroked with an old brush, to simulate the wood grain.
