The Sherman has won silver in Scaleworld, category "naked kit".

Now it is primered in Humbrol Tank Grey to prepare for the hairspray technique.

After the hairspray I painted the Crab in Tamiya Olive Drab and black for the flail cylinder.

Now the shadows and highlights are done, with stress on the light tones to show off chipping later on.

Insignia for a generic tank have been sprayed on, so you won't find this tank on any reference pictures.

A good start gets you underway, Holger. If I compare to builds of other brands, I see the differences. I just did some chipping on the hull.

Thanks, Holger. I just constructed a nice CMK figure to go in the turret. The original one wasn't so smooth.

The mantlet dust cover is sprayed Flat Earth. I tweaked the insignia a bit.

I made a base that will be shaped like a cobblestone road that is partly submerged with Vallejo Still Water.

My brand new phelsuma witnesses the creation of a bomb crater in my cobblestone road. Plaster is applied thinly on the surface.

I have to continue this if I want to have something to show at BSMC. Therefore I have started painting and drybrushing.

I now started to weather the tank. I used The Filter for green tanks and the AK wash for NATO 3-tone. I also printed some leaflets to scatter on the road.

The base for the diorama is now worked out and the tracks and spare chains are fixed to the tank. Without the rotor it looks a bit like the mantis I bought last weekend.

I finished the Crab on friday. A few hours later it entered the contest at BSMC, but today it proved unlucky. Next time better, that will probably be at KMK. I adorned the wooden base with pictures of the Overloon War Museum example. I also put a dusty spray over the front of the tank, which I would find normal for the amount of soil it throws up. It probably cost me some points compared to all those colorful camos on the table, so be it.

Looks stunning Steven! I admire your patience, it really shows in the finished model.

Thanks, everybody! Now I can make some space for the other running projects.

Great job! One of my favorite themes - Hobart funnies and all similiar Specialty Combat Vehicles.

Thanks, Brian. Maybe I will do some more, but some very small scale. USA Landing Vehicle Set (AFV Club SE73516, 1:350)

Die is er bij gezet omdat het over beestjes met veel poten ging... Bedankt!
