F4F Wildcat representing my paternal grandfather's squadron. He was assigned to VGF-27 but I was unable to find the correct size 7 to cut out and recreate the correct side stencil. This was his sister squadron on the USS Suwannee (CVE-27) in 1942. It is a Tamiya 1/48 scale. I prefer the Tamiya kits, the detail and fit are excellent.
