M18 Hellcat

I’m feeling like a different challenge and this little lot should achieve that!

I picked this Airfix Hellcat up from the new stock that has just landed at my local Devon Art Supplies model shop. This is my first foray into 1:35 scale modelling will be interesting. I thought I would also add a Jeep, last weekend’s purchase from my first collector’s fair in 2 years, into the mix and as Airfix don’t, unlike Tamiya, include figures, a box of tank crew from Jadlam Racing Models should add some reality to the diorama I’m going to place on this Heller base. Phew! ? 

M18 Day 1, let the build commence. I just can’t believe how much larger the pieces are compared to my normal 1:72 kits ??

With repetitive wheel construction ? a clogging air brush ? and then I went and knocked over the liquid glue bottle, catching the top rear of the tank ?. I’ll now have to have kit loaded high over this area and may be a figure standing over the worst of it ?

Calling it a day now … time for a beer! ? 

A very slow day 4 with my M18 Hellcat. The ☀️ came out so a day walking was called for ?‍♂️. Managed a few of minutes on my return to add a set of lights and rails … every little counts.
