The last duel

I tried to pre colour the das clay. On the lighter part I tried to use acrylic paint, but probably that paint isn't pigmented enough. On the darker side I used iron oxide powder pigment. It was a bit hard to knead into the clay, since it acts like cinnamon powder and dries the heck out of everything. Next time I'll try to make a slush with water and pigment to see if it works better. I like the result honestly, it looks very natural and with the appropriate weathering it will look even better. 

 

All the figures were pre shaded using acrylic inks. It's a fun technique honestly! And acrylic inks work so beautifully with the airbrush. Honestly, if I were to find a nice selection of inks I would honestly stop using paints.  

 

 

The first horse is done! I must say, I'm very satisfied with it!  

 

This horse is coming along pretty nicely. Acrylic inks and Vallejo paints are a blessing when using an airbrush!  

I hate painting faces. Also, oil pinwash saves. Only Army painter washes are better
 

 

He"s almost done! I'm going to glue him to the saddle, then I'll make the horse reins.
