I started modelling when I was about 12, and had been so clever to wreck my knee at the start of the summer holidays (intelligent people do that early September when the "Back to school" publicity is hanging in the shops).

An aunt felt so sorry that she bought me a 1/72 scale Messerschmidt 109, I painted it with gouache. Then came a Mitsubishi zero, and, of course, a Spitfire.

When I was +/-20 years old I switched to 1/48 scale and that is where I still am. I build very slowly, because a very busy job does not leave a lot of room for modelling, and because I have several other hobbies that take up time.
