Thanks Clint, this is my first project that I have documented. So bear with me. I'm a slow worker, so this will be a long process.

Good start! I just finished an engine maintenance diorama myself.

Very impressive diorama EnsignExpendabl, I will use it as inspiration for this project

Thanks! I got some criticism regarding a lack of junk and stains on the floor, so you can learn from my mistakes.

Thanks Clint. I had a little trouble with Lifecolor paint, finding the proper ratio for thinner and paint was alittle difficult. The nozzle on the airbrush kept clogging.

I've never used Lifecolor. I had a similar issue with Vallejo though. I find a couple of drops of Airbrush Flow Improver solved the problem. I have had to thin the paints more than Vallejo recommends. I use a Itawa Eclipse HP-CS at a pressure of about 15 to 20 psi. Don't know if it's useful info or not but it works for me. The higher pressure makes it harder to make very small applications but I have adapted.

I find I really like how the colors look in the Lifecolor line of paints. It does seem however, certain colors thin differently than others. And it can be quite frustrating to use these with an airbrush. But the results make it worthwhile at least to me.

I agree with you. I went from testors enamels and Tamiya acyrilics to Vallejo, despite the pulling or hair and gnashing of teeth I have enjoyed the results and leaning something new.

Clint, are you using Vallejo Model Color or Model Air paint. I tried one time to spray with Model Color paint and it was not a pleasant experience. I have never tried the Model Air paint though.

I use both. The Model Air is easier but I still thin it down about 1:4. Model color is closer to 1:3 thinner to paint.

Ready for an application of Future gloss coat. Then I'll start on the Magic Tracks.

After I get the gloss coat on and finish building and painting the magic tracks the weathering process will then begin.

Thanks Spanjaard. First time using Life Color Liquid Pigments. I'm enjoying using them.

Hi Alan!
Very interesting scene and well painted and weathered! I´m looking forward your next steps!

Thanks for the comments guys. Building the Magic Tracks is next.

Top work.
I use the Lifecolor Dust and Rust set(thats pretty great). The use of Vallejo colors(i think like all "true"acryl colors)is a little different.I get the best use by 20 drops paint to 6 drops Thinner and 3 drops flow enhancer(vallejo air color).I also spray the Model air but with up to 10 drops Thinner and 5 to 6 drops flow enhancer. The secret to success is the flow enhancer, because the colors dry fast on the noozle.Clean the nozzle often with a cotton swap(dipped in window cleaner.

Thanks for the advice Markus. I will try using flow enhancer.
5 July 2017, 23:14

I agree with Markus though with my set up I don't use quite as much flow enhancer.
6 July 2017, 23:08

What brand of flow enhancer should I use with Lifecolor paints?
7 July 2017, 10:35

I think the best is to choose a Lifecolor enhancer(if there is one). But I think you can use the Vallejo ,too(but better do a test)

Great job! I love the tanker rushing the maintenance crew, a very relatable scenario 😛
