Looks like I bought my 1:32 Mirage 2000D/N in time then. I had mixed feeling about the brand myself. Who knows maybe they'll just change their name or something.

Good thing I bought all of those Kitty Hawk kits then. Though I never did get the RF-101C that I wanted.

I also bought the MH-60L and another AH-6M Kit yesterday before everything will be sold out or you have to pay astronomous prices on the big bay or somewhere else second handed.

I was disappointed with the UH-1D in 1:35 , but I did order the Voodoo in 1:48, so the Voodoo should be on a container ship or something on its way. I also have the Jaguar in 1:48, which has some twisted plastic, and the replacement part, also had a twist in it.

Maybe somebody at Kitty Hawk died?

I heated my Jaguar part in hot water and twisted it back into shape and held it there untill it cooled.

As much as i suffered on KH horrible dauphin kit, i realy wanted that k52 and mi28

I don't know. Yes, I looked forward to the Ka-52 as well as to the Mi-28 and the Su-25. On the other hand Kitty Hawk's kitts did have quality issues; in some cases severe ones. One may say, nothing a good modeler couldn't handle. But comparing to other brands where sprue quality and fitting are no issue (or in case of Tamiya are near perfection) it is a legit question if struggling with the issues of Kitty Hawk's kitts is what makes us modelers happy? Well, in my case definitely not! It's the nature of our hobby that it is pretty time-consuming so I would prefer not to spend additional time to repair quality issues of a kit.

Now what's my real pain? Did I look forward to the kits from Kitty Hawk or to the topics of Soviet aircrafts? Well, to the topics, of course. I would prefer a Ka-52 (as well as a Mi-28 and Su-25) from any other brand (like, let's say Zvezda, ICM or such) but from Kitty Hawk.

While Kitty Hawk didn't do their kitts well, they for sure did the choice of their topics pretty well. Let's hope the other brands see this like I do and then go for the Ka-52, the Mi-28 and the Su-25.

True words man, i would avoid KH kits like the plague, but if one wants specific item, sometimes there's no escape but getting it from KH

I wouldn't be suprised if those kits will pop up later from zvezda, or another manufacture. In fact its not impossible that the new zvezda su25 is linked to KH somehow

I had kind of become a Kitty Hawk fan, I built their Jaguar, F-101C and have several in the stash. I most enjoyed the F-101 build and had no major problems.

Oh, I'm not saying they did not have their problems, and they were over engineered. Their instructions were the pits. I usually did not follow them. They were starting to get pretty pricey also.

I think I remember complaining on their facebook page, something about boycotting their models. Clearly, they don't know what they are doing when they research models, or something goes horribly wrong in the process. I am ofc referring to the faulty symmetric front windows (should be obviously asymmetric) on their new UH-1D kit in 1:48 scale. The box art got it right, but the kit got it wrong, such an obvious flaw, one might well ask what went wrong.

I will unsubscribe from this thread now so I don't have to keep reading more of this stuff. 🙂
