Thanks, Mike!
I was landed with this kit (no pun intended) a few years ago at a modelers´ meeting, "as I did so nice things with old kits" or something in the line. Well, I quite early on had the idea of building this vessel very decrepit and beached and abandoned, and right now having some projects stalled I decided to treat myself to a spot of guilt-free modeling fun, and just built it.
I was able to use the salt-chiping technique for the first time ever (ever! ever!) and had a lot of fun weathering the model. Saemann generic PE parts helped spruce up the railings and ladders and windlass and so on, and no small amount of curry powder spiced up the ground work. You can still smell it a bit 😉

Looks great Frank, as you say nice to just have a little bit of an easier ride on a model sometimes, shame not everybody can understand that!

Amazing, the last picture seems that has been taken from a newspaper's article! Looks so realistic, congratulations!

Sehr erfrischend, ein Modell in seiner "unnatürlichen" Umgebung zu zeigen. Super umgesetzt Frank!
