This is the shape to sandbags out of the box. Due to production they are thin and the material is in excess of the bag.

Trim the excess cotton material “seams” from the two ends of the bags. Make sure not to cut too close to the seams.

Mix together a solution of water and wood glue. The adhesive suggested is not white craft glue, but the tan adhesive you might use in home improvement projects. Just mix it to the consistency of milk, but with a tan color.

Submerge the sandbag into the glue/water mixture. This should take just a few seconds (up to a minute), kneading the bag so that water penetrated the entire bag and saturated the powder contents.

Put the bags on your model. Also note: You should place the sandbag with the main seam on the bottom so that it does not show.

Give the sandbags the chance to dry (for example over night). You should then paint your sandbags. You can choose each color you prefer, making colored effects and everything you wish.

Hello John, thank you for your reply and your feedback. Sandbags are made of a kind of cotton (quite thin and fine). The content is something like granulated wood, but harder than wood. Therefore PVA can be simply used.

Prices for our sandbags are based on other ones out of plastic (inj. moulded). But those are not flexible and one bag look like the other.
